Frequently Asked Questions

When is trash day?

Every Monday is trash pick-up.  The first and third Mondays of each month are bulk pick-up days.  So you can put out extra trash or bundled brush, etc. at that time.  If you need more info, see http://www.flower-mound.com/utilities/trash_recycling.php.

How can I get our trash bin replaced?

Allied Waste Services is the company who supplies the trash bins to Flower Mound residences. Click here to go to their website.

What are the guidelines for recycling?  What about the local landfill?

See the Trash & Recycling Guide  for Flower Mound.

Who do I contact about approving home / yard improvements?

Any concrete yard changes or additions, and any outside home additions or improvements, including painting (if changing color), need to be approved by the Architectural Control Committee, in an effort to maintain our beautiful neighborhood.  Also any major changes may require a Town permit, so please check with the Town before starting a major project.  You can download an ACC application form from the HOA Info page.

What fence stain colors have been pre-approved by the ACC?

The following fence stain colors have been pre-approved by the Architectural Control Committee for re-staining of fences:

  • Behr Woodbridge
  • Behr Sable
  • Behr Chestnut
  • Behr Russet

You can use a different brand, if you prefer, but we ask that you try and match one of the above colors. Also, if a different stain color is used, please fill out the ACC form for approval of that color before beginning the project. The ACC form can be found at http://www.bakersbranchhoa.com/ACC application.pdf or http://www/bakersbranchhoa.com/ACC application.doc.

Where can I order a new mailbox?

The maker of our neighborhood mailboxes is Brandon Industries, Inc. in McKinney. Their phone number is 972-542-3000, and website www.brandonindustries.com.  Replacement parts and mailboxes can be ordered from the company.  Our mailbox model number is TXF54-XX15-1X, and the style is M1 - verde green.  New flags for the mailboxes can also be purchased at Home Depot.

Gerault/Morriss Road Expansion

As you may have heard, there are plans to expand Gerault and Morriss to a six lane road from 2499 to 407 in the year 2010. There is a group who has started a website to oppose the road expansion. This is not affiliated with our HOA but we wanted to provide you with the information and website in case you were interested.  The website is www.stopmorriss6.blogspot.com.

Did you know the Flower Mound Police are easy to contact?

We have beat cops assigned to our area, and a beat phone number you can call at any time to reach the officer on patrol at that time (see beat map and contact info).   Also, the Flower Mound Police Department provides home checks while you are away on vacation.  Simply stop by the Police Department on Kirkpatrick (see map) and fill out a form requesting this service (this can be done any time and dropped in a drop box at the front desk).  Then while you're gone they will come by one or two times a day to check the perimeter of your home and make sure things are in tact.

Gas Lease Information?

Your Bakers Branch Board is still working with an attorney to draw up a lease that would be beneficial to the neighborhood and to neighbors individually.  However, with the downturn in gas prices and recent economic concerns, we have put the rest of the process on hold until things begin to turn around.  Thank you to all who have signed up to be a part of our bargaining coalition.  If you have would like more information or had not signed up previously and would still like to do so, please contact Carter Strey at treasurer@bakersbranchhoa.com.

For general information about gas drilling and leases from other Flower Mound neighborhoods, check out the Flower Mound Alliance of Neighbors information below with a link to their website.

Several Flower Mound neighborhood gas lease evaluation committees have collaborated to create an informative site for residents who are or will be approached by Barnett Shale driller/operators to lease their mineral rights.  The site is www.fmaneighbors.com. The intent is to compile and share the pertinent, hard to come by information that has been obtained through months of discovery work by various Flower Mound residents.  The web site talks about our rights as residents, the key contractual/risk mitigation elements to fight for in a gas lease contract, potential revenue for each resident, drilling risks, how to organize a community/communities, and several other key topics.  We encourage you to start exploring this site by downloading and reading the "Fact Sheet for Residents" and by reading through the FAQ section. We believe this will become the most comprehensive and informative method of communicating our information to each community as well as residents that have been approached by gas lease land men.
